And now for my favorite mouse: the Logitech MX Revolution wireless mouse.

This is really one great mouse. Fits the hand perfectly, very precise, excellent connectivity, long battery charge.

The unit has a cradle that handles charging only (not the wireless transmit/receive), and the mouse has a handy charge-gauge built in so you can always see the state of the charge. The wireless transmitter is a USB key that has an excellent range and an instantaneous reaction time when using the mouse; there is simply no lag of any kind, even after the mouse has been sitting or your PC has gone in to sleep mode.

This mouse is very precise and very fast.

Also, I like the scroll wheel quite a bit. It is notched so you get a tactile feedback when you use it; however, it also allows for a smooth scroll if that is what you prefer.

I don’t: I like a notched scroll wheel. Much easier, in my opinion, for scrolling through files or pictures, that sort of thing.

Another option is the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000. This mouse is a very worthy competitor to the Logitech MX Revolution, except for one thing: its scroll wheel is smooth only. There is no option for a notched-feedback scroll, and what a hassle it is to use this mouse because of that.

The Microsoft offering is a good mouse otherwise: Nice charging dock, excellent wireless connectivity, good precision, and a good feel in the hand. (In truth, I do prefer the feel of the Logitech MX, but the Microsoft is not too difficult to work with and does fit the hand pretty darn well.)

No, the problem with the Microsoft Laser Mouse 7000 is the the scroll wheel. That is pretty much the only issue with this product. For me, and for lots of folks (some simple research will show I am not alone in my assessment of this product), the smooth-scroll is a deal killer with this product.

My personal keyboard favorite:

The Saitek Eclipse II illuminated-key keyboard is one terrific keyboard. Great feel to the keys, fairly standard layout, and the cool lighting.So many keyboards these days have tons of media-friendly special keys some keyboards which aren’t all that handy in the long run (are you really going to bring up your photos by choosing some special key on your keyboard?) and just make those kinds of keyboards huge.

This baby is a good size, and comes with an optional wrist rest.

And if you are fan of low-to-no overhead lights in your office – like I am and many of us techie-types are – the soft LED light given off by this keyboard is pretty trick.

All in all, an excellent keyboard, and highly recommended.
