Tim is the founder and President of Terrapin Networks. He is our lead IT consultant and technologist and handles our business development.
Tim’s main area of expertise relates to IT system design and efficiencies, as well as business workflow issues relating to the IT system. In short: Tim is an expert at making sure the IT system in an organization works like it is supposed to. He is highly skilled at IT budgeting, cost containment, and making the most efficient use of every piece of equipment in the IT system while never skimping on security and backup protection.
Tim’s specialty is gathering all the necessary information and putting it together in common terms that any business leader can understand.
Tim has been published in the Traverse City Business News and is a regular guest on WTCM Talk Radio in Traverse City, answering called-in questions on computers and technology.
In 2006 Tim was named the IT Director for the City of Cadillac, Michigan, as part of the City’s privatizing their IT Department to Terrapin Networks.
Tim Gillen and his wife Sue reside in Traverse City. They have three children in their twenties. Tim is an amateur astronomer in his spare time and he can never get enough of messing with computers. He is active in the Traverse City Kiwanis Club and the Traverse Area Keryx prison ministry and is on the football coaching staff at Glen Lake High School.

Kris is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in Windows Server 2003, as well as a CompTIA Network+ Certified Network Engineer and CompTIA Security+ Network Security Expert.

Help Desk Manager – Operations Manager
Paul comes to Terrapin Networks after a 20 year career in the United States Marine Corps, where he retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. His operational and logistical experience and responsibilities in that capacity brings a perfect skill set to our Help Desk.
